Coming back out into the world was interesting. They warned me to look out for some overwhelm but I discounted it a bit having done a 3 day ceremony before. As usual, they were right. I imagine being in the woods and speaking to literally no one for a week (outside brief coaching sessions most days) would make coming back into the traffic and constant barrage of signs telling you what to do and what to eat and where you can buy insurance a little… much.

But Ayahuasca demolishes your filters. Just rips them down. Ordinarily one of the most amazing and essential things our brains do is actually make us NOT see every little thing, or hear every detail. There’s usually very little signal in the noise so the filters we create are essential. But letting them fall away in ceremony is a gateway to so much learning and understanding that I couldn’t be more grateful for it. And… integration back into the crazy we live in takes a little time.

I spent a lot of time retreating to our room to go back to the quiet. And listened to this song/mantra that came on late one night (my ceremonies lasted way longer than the rest of the group for some reason). I AM LOVING AWARENESS - East Forest & Ram Das. It struck me at the perfect time late in my ceremony. Insert laugh crying. It’s been really beautiful to bake in little ceremonies throughout my day. Revisiting the peace, and welling up of emotion. The image today brings me back there. I made it since coming back. The Tree Of Life, Touching The Universe. All the complexity and beauty and riot of living things in a beautiful web, flowing out of the Source, and up into Universe. It’s a helluva ride.
