The prompt for today is “A quantum computer’s rendition of a guitar with vibrating strings”

I mean… the grilled cheese went so well right?

This piece dunks me in the ocean of flow. I can still remember the first time I experienced flow states while playing. There may or may not have been psychoactive fungus involved. Such great teachers! I remember playing far beyond my ability but barely being conscious of it. I remember almost a sense of waking when the song or moment was over.

I also remember how frustrating it was trying to brute force my way into those states as if I could turn them on. You can’t turn them on. The puzzle is solved by NOT doing. By surrendering to it. Your thinking mind needs to become quiet and still. Then magic can happen. I’m so grateful for flow states! I think the benefits we get from them must be a lot like meditation practice.

I could never have guessed that learning to surrender like this would help me prepare for aya. But it sure did.

And the directed practice of this skill during ceremony is itself practice to prepare us to do it in life.

The magic is in surrender and letting go. There’s a giant well of genius and power down there in the silence.
