I’m listening to the Culture novels (Iain Banks) again from the beginning. I’m playing with every A.I. tool I can, and I’ve committed myself to this 128 weeks of applied effort to be as close to the A.I. revolution as I can in these early days of the knee of the exponential curve. That and my team and I are planning some really crazy stuff, and this stuff ends closer and closer to the beginning of the movie Her. For real go watch that asap. Today. The start of that movie is where we will be in a few short years!

The reason today is called Imagination Unbound is because when all the “work” is outsourced to machine intelligence that will be far superior to what our monkey meat minds are capable of, what will be left is IMAGINATION. It will be the “wanting”. The creative spark that is our will and consciousness exploring the universe. I’ve felt it a bunch already. When no inspiration will come to me and I let things get quiet and just ask myself what I want to see. What am I curious about? What is a basic thing that might be interesting in this moment? Then midjourney hands me a beautiful image, and when I have nothing to write chatGPT delivers me a wonderful story or a message from the dead. I am the spark.

We will always be the spark. Even when our machine descendants can simulate it. (Which means to actually do it, there is no difference); we will still be the spark. We can still explore the universe and our consciousness. We can do it together.
