Got to go out to the farm today. Rolled a bit of Jiu Jitsu then settled in for 4 hours of chopping wood. I’m kinda old so I had to take a bunch of breaks not to pass out in the sun. My back already hurts. The wood was made of rubber and the ax was dull.

But I got it done. It occurred to me many times out there that I love getting the job done. That I will find a way within my own limitations, leveraging every piece of tech or duct tape or building whatever team or community we need, to get the job done.

This fills me with hope. Resurrecting the Uplift isn’t going to be easy. Building thinking metaverse assistants that will grow the capability to help us out here in the real is an almost absurdly difficult task. And yet we will build it. I’ll take as many little breaks as I need. Sometimes my metaphorical back will hurt. I’ll ice it and get some sleep.

And I’ll keep going back to nature to do the work there.

And the jobs will get done.
