This piece was inspired by a cactus I got from a now defunct cactus nursey in southern California which was given the nickname 'spiderweb' by the seller due to the spine formations. From what I can tell, its a peruvianus that has a great glaucus color and yellow/black spines. New growth from an old core is always nice to watch unfold.

The trichocereus cactus genus is one of the least studied and documented around. This art collection is inspired by the trichocereus garden sown and grown by DrCharles in North Carolina.

This collection will become the building blocks for a major effort towards preservation, propagation, and documentation of the trichocereus cactus genus which is currently endangered in the wild.

Be mindful, don't EVER take plants (whole plants, leaves, branches, etc) from the wild or national parks. It is not only illegal but destructive, unethical, and immoral to do so.
